Day One

'Ocean Countess' sails from Greenock late this afternoon.

Day Two

Today is spent at sea, enjoying life on board 'Ocean Countess'.

Day Three

This morning 'Ocean Countess' docks in Bergen - an ancient Hanseatic city of cobbled streets and medieval houses, and birthplace of composer Edvard Grieg. Visit the vibrant harbour and fish market, stroll past the wooden warehouses of Bryggen and take the Floibanen funicular to the summit of 'Mount' Floyen.

Day Four

This morning 'Ocean Countess' arrives in the port of Molde, known as the 'city of jazz and roses' because of its famous summertime music festival. Picturesquely set on Romsdalfjord, Molde is backed by steep hills, which offer a magical view across the blue waters. Join our shore excursion at Andalsnes, and see the spectacular scenery of the region, including the vertiginous Trollstigen (Troll's Ladder) a breathtaking road at the head of the Valldal valley. From Andalsnes, there may be a chance to visit the famous wooden Rodven stave church in its dreamy setting beside the fjord.

Day Five

Geirangerfjord is one of the smallest, but most beautiful of the fjords, its twists and turns marked by crashing waterfalls and ancient and beguiling villages Hellesylt and Geiranger. Disembark to enjoy an unforgettable excursion inland, then reboard for a compelling afternoon passage along the glorious fjord.

Day Six

As we negotiate a path through the narrow fingers of Sognefjord, the world's largest and deepest fjord, you can stay on board or disembark at Flam, the remotest corner of the fjord, where you can board the world-famous Flamsbana Mountain Railway for an unforgettable six-mile journey to Myrdal and then Voss, where you'll board a coach to rejoin 'Ocean Countess' at Vik.

Day Seven

Our final port of call is the Shetland-Island capital, Lerwick. This rugged, enchanting old town is gateway to a land of ancient legend, traditional crafts and an incredible abundance of bird-life. Spend time in the town, or join the excursion to the 3000 year-old archaeological site at Jarlshof, with its Bronze and Iron Age remains.

Day Eight

Our last day is spent at sea, cruising off Scotland's west coast.

Day Nine

This morning we return to Greenock, and disembark at the end of a wonderful Fjordland cruise.
