Spend a memorable night on a bed of clear ice, exciting winter activities, plus the comforts of the Davvi Arctic Lodge.

OUR COOLEST ARCTIC Spirit break offers a taste of the land of the Northern Lights... with one memorable night spent in an igloo! Based at the Davvi Arctic Lodge hotel, in Karesuando, the highlight of your stay will be the night you sleep in your very own ice house. With all the comforts of a warm cabin at your igloo's doorstep, this is a great way to experience a unique night's sleep. During the rest of your stay, you will venture out into the Arctic wilderness on a Fell Viewpoint snowmobile safari and get an introduction to the ancient art of snowshoeing.

3 Night Itinerary:

Day 1

You fly around 0940 on a Saturday from Gatwick to Tromsø in Norway, arriving approx. 1420, followed by a scenic four-hour transfer to the Davvi Arctic Lodge in Karesuando in Northern Finland. After checking in, you are provided with your included all-in-one thermal suits and boots. Temperatures here can fall as low as -35C and your thermal suit and boots are an essential part of your short break package. Please note, hats, scarves and gloves are also necessary but are not included. You have the rest of the evening to enjoy dinner and then perhaps relax in the Sámi Lounge.

Day 2

After breakfast, you have a morning free to enjoy the Arctic landscapes, right on your doorstep at the Davvi Arctic Lodge. And there is an exciting range of optional excursions available at extra cost. There is the Call of the Wild Husky Safari or the Ice Fishing and Snowmobile Safari, to mention just two.

After a warming lunch at the Davvi Arctic Lodge, you set out again into the glorious snowscapes, this time learning new skills on a Snowshoe Expedition, lasting around two hours. After dinner, the highlight of your break: a night spent in an igloo. Your Arctic sleeping bag, laid upon reindeer skins, will help keep you warm. Alternatively, you could choose a Sámi tepee for your night out, while the faint-hearted can always elect to spend the night in their hotel room!

Day 3

You return to the Davvi Arctic Lodge for breakfast and then prepare for your Snowmobile Fell Viewpoint safari. After lunch, you have the afternoon free to join one of our optional excursions. What about visiting a Sámi museum in a nearby village or a Husky safari? Dinner is served before a final chance to join a Husky or Snowmobile Northern Lights Safari.

Day 4

After breakfast, you depart on your return transfer to Tromsø, stopping for some souvenir shopping en route. Packed lunch. Your flight home at around 1705 will return you to Gatwick at around 1945 UK time.

SEVEN NIGHTS: Please note seven-night departures include all of the elements of the three-night departures with four extra nights on a full-board basis. Itineraries are adjusted accordingly; where possible activities will be spread over your stay although this cannot be guaranteed.

FOUR NIGHTS: Please note four-night departures include all of the elements of three-night departures with an extra night on full board basis.
