Combine your search for the Northern Lights with a few days of adventure!! This trip includes two 4-hour safaris into the wilderness, the means of transport is chosen by you. You will have lunch whilst in the wilderness and an evening's accommodation in a luxury glass igloo (or a snow igloo).

Your Itinerary:

Day 1:
Head off on your Northern Lights adventure on a scheduled flight from Heathrow or Manchester via Helsinki to our snowy destination in the very Northern region of Finnish Lapland. You will be collected from Ivalo airport by our local respresentatives and taken to the igloo village in the Lappish wilderness and your traditional cabin home.

Day 2 & 3 - Choose your own Lapland adventures:
After breakfast each day you will be off into the wilderness on a 4 hour Lappish adventure. Each will include lunch in a woodland setting. Choose from:

4 hour Husky Safari: Our Husky farm is situated just across the road from the hotel and is home to about 250 eager huskies ready to take you on an unforgettable journey through breathtaking winter scenery.

On arrival we will provide you with a warm outer thermal suit, gloves and hat and then we will present your very own Husky team. You will be given a lesson on how to drive the sledge and how to observe important hand signals given by your leader. Each team consists of about six dogs, you the driver and your passenger, who is comfortably seated in the wooden sledge. The driver and the passenger can change places at any time during the safari.

The 4-hour Husky Safari includes a lunch served over an open fire in a wooden teepee.

4 hour Reindeer Safari: This is a relaxing experience, in which you peacefully glide through the magical winter forest pulled by your very own reindeer. We pick you up from the hotel by car and drive to the reindeer farm, where all necessary equipment will be provided. This safari requires no skills and the reindeer will do all the work for you as you comfortably relax in your own sleigh.

The 4-hour safari includes a hot lunch in a reindeer herdsman’s hut. This safari gives you a wonderful opportunity to learn all about the Sami people, their traditions and way of life. This is something not to be overlooked.

4 hour Snowmobile Safari:  Our snowmobile safari takes place in the ski village of Saariselkä situated some 10 kms away. Safari begins with a private transfer by car from the hotel to the safari office, where you will receive full equipment including thermal suit, boots, socks, gloves, balaclava and helmet, followed by an all-important lesson on driving a snowmobile and safety information. Safari trail begins with a drive up to the beautiful Kaunispää fell, 436m above sea level, opening up the most stunning views over the surrounding area. After which the trail then continues through the beautifully quiet winter forest. 

The 4 hour safari includes a lunch cooked over open fire in a wilderness hut. Two persons can share one snowmobile and take turns in driving or you can request solo driving at a supplementary cost (£40 extra) .

Day 3 evening:
A night in a Glass Igloo: On the morning of day 3 you should depart your cabin and leave your luggage in the luggage room in the main building. (A small overnight bag (with only essentials) should be prepared to use in the Igloo) In the evening you will transfer your stay to a Glass igloo which provides an one of a kind opportunity to admire the northern lights and millions of stars of the crystal clear Lapp sky in a comfortable room temperature.

NB: For those more adventurous couples you can choose a Snow Igloo instead.

Day 4:
After breakfast it will be time to bid a fond farewell. You will be transferred back to Ivalo airport for your flight home.

Traditional Log Cabin
We have 40 first-class log cabins, out of which five are queen suites, one honeymoon turfchamber and one traditional Lappish farmer log house. The cabins come in different sizes, accommodating from 2 up to 10 persons. The whole village - cabins, restaurant and saunas, are hand made of rare dead standing pine, kelo.

Log Cabin (included in price):
Each cabin is equipped with a fireplace, shower/toilet, kitchenette, own sauna and some cabins have a traditional Finnish rocking chair. The cabins are located sufficiently far apart so that each one has its own peaceful garden area.

Glass Igloos (1 night - included in price):
Based on a groundbreaking idea and years of research and development, glass igloos are a marvel of modern technology. Built from a special thermal glass the temperature inside the igloo always stays at a normal level. It also prevents the glass from not getting white frosted, hence keeping the view clear even when the temperature outside drops to under -30°C. Every igloo is equipped with a toilet and luxury beds. On every evening a hot sauna and a refreshing ice hole are waiting for you.
