On this short break you will experience some exhilarating activities that take you into the beautiful surroundings of Lapland, on the edge of Europe's last unspoiled wilderness. And the highlight of your break will be the two occasions when you set off beneath an Arctic night sky in the hope of encountering the fabled aurora borealis, or Northern Lights. We cannot guarantee that you'll see this spectacular and mysterious natural phenomenon, of course, but you'll certainly have every chance of an unforgettable encounter.

Yllas Saaga Spa Hotel ****
A modern ski-in/ski-out luxury resort hotel with excellent spa facilities and a choice of superior hotel rooms and high-quality apartments. Located next to the lifts, ski school and ski hire shop on the Ylläsjärvi side of the fell, it offers superb views over the surrounding Lappish countryside.
Day 1 (Sunday):
You fly direct from the UK to Kittila in Finnish Lapland, followed by a scenic transfer to your hotel or cabin. On arrival you will be provided with your included all-in-one thermal suits and boots. Temperatures here can fall as low as -35C at this time of the year and your thermal suit and boots are an essential part of your short break package. Please note that hats, scarves and gloves are also necessary but are not included. Remember to pack some for everyone.
Day 4 (Wednesday) 1830-2200:
Northern Lights Snowmobile
This relaxing night snowmobile safari takes you under the Lappish night sky. Enjoy the journey to a traditional Lappish hut where you will be offered hot drinks and snacks around open fire. While cooking a sausage you’ll hear stories about Lapland and the mystical northern lights – some facts, some fiction. Left amazed by the tales you’ll head back and if you are lucky, the lights will come out to play.

Day 6 (Friday) 1600-1800:
Evening Husky Safari
Professional mushers will greet you and give driving instructions before meeting the dogs. 4-5 husky dogs will pull you through the forests with your assistance. After the tour dogs will be left to rest while guests can enjoy hot drinks and snack around open fire. As you leave the huskies you will know much more about husky breeding, life of the huskies and driving them than you did before.

Day 8 (Sunday):
It is time to say farewell. Thermals and boots will be returned and you will be
transferred by coach to Kittila airport for your flight home.
OPTIONAL OVERNIGHT SAFARI:
Overnight Safari to Snow Village (Tuesday or Friday)
£250 per couple extra when done in place of Northern Lights Snowmobile
This is one of the most popular excursions! Everything is included: transfers, dinner and overnight stay. The arrival itself to the magically illuminated Snow Village by snowmobiles through the frosty forest is an unforgettable experience. Once you have enjoyed a dinner in the ice restaurant you will be introduced to an overnight in snow hotel (double room, 2 persons / room). After breakfast in the morning the safari continues back to the safari house.
