At the latitude of the town of Kemi, Northern Lights can be seen around 100 nights a year, and in Helsinki up to 20 nights. In Central Europe, the Northern Lights occur about once a year, and in the Mediterranean regions only about once a decade.

A unique and memorable night in a thermal glass igloo is the perfect way to have the best opportunity of seeing the Northern Lights from the comfort of your bed.
Igloos have luxury twin beds, a small en suite bathroom with toilet and basin, and are cosy and warm inside fue to the special thermal glass. Kaslauttanen Igloo Village, with 20 glass igloos, is located 10km from Saariselka, well away from any light pollution. Transfers from your main Saariselka accommodation, evening sauna (5-10pm) and breakfast are included.
Guests may also visit the Ice Gallery with ice sculptures made by artists from around the world (additional 15euros payable locally).
